Anna Kemble MA, BC-DMT, CLMA
Serving Greater Vancouver and the North Shore

I am a senior-level Dance-Movement Therapist (BC-DMT), practicing counselling psychology since 1998. I help people to:

  • feel better
  • think and communicate more clearly
  • have deeper and more honest relationships, and
  • feel more confident in personal and creative expression.

I have helped hundreds of people from diverse cultures with a range of physical, emotional and mental difficulties, from aged one through ninety. I work with able-bodied people as well as those “differently able”, including persons deaf and blind, people using wheelchairs, and those with developmental and acquired disabilities and illnesses.

The methods I use include cognitive-behavioral “talk therapy” integrated with expressive arts and experiential methods including body awareness, movement, role-play, drama, voice-sound, visual art and sandplay. As a client, you will always have choice in how we work.

Expressive arts such as dance and movement, in which I specialize, are proven to support brain integration and emotional health for all ages. Experiential therapy methods engage a person’s whole self: your body, right and left brain hemispheres, and innate inner wisdom. Use of experiential arts can facilitate more rapid progress in therapy, and encourage lasting self awareness and behavioural shifts, at any age.

By working with me, you will receive compassionate support.

In addition to my private counselling practice, I consult, teach and work on contract for various organizations and schools in the greater Vancouver area, including Vancouver Coastal Health, Learning Through the Arts, Clearmind International, and Vancouver Art Therapy Institute.
